the Montessori march
This is one of my favourite sights on the island here. We are fortunate enough to have a wonderful Montessori daycare around the corner from us, and each morning the teachers bring strings of small children off the boat, ready to bumble along together on the nature-filled walk to the daycare (there are also strollers and a bike-powered "bus" for those who can't make it the whole way).
I love seeing the littlest ones in the wintertime, all puffy and awkward in their layers of snow gear, bomping into each other if anyone stops too quickly...

baby mama
Inspired by a short stay in Sick Kids hospital this week (thankfully our little guy recovered relatively quickly). It's always a grounding experience to be surrounded by so many families, all with their own story, and always much, much love.
fall
Taking some time to sketch some small, joyful moments from this otherwise crazy week…
Feeling thankful for some beautiful fall days here.

This is our littlest guy. It took him a relatively long time to start walking due to low muscle tone (common in kids with Down Syndrome). This is his first year to be able to walk through the fall leaves… utter joy. So proud of this little munchkin :)
